OCHRE Heroes - Heather Marfleet
We are frequently overwhelmed when we hear stories from our supporters about their battle to survive, or their experiences of caring for loved ones or their fight to go the extra mile to raise money so that lives can be saved.
Heather Marfleet is one such fighter, she didn’t go the extra mile rather she covered over 32 of them when she completed the Thames Path Ultramarathon 50km last month. Unbelievably Heather only took up running at the beginning of 2014 when she decided her goal was to be able to run 5km without stopping. Fast forward 18 months and Heather who lives in Daventry has raised over £2000 for Ochre in the name of her Mum, Marie who is bravely battling oesophageal cancer.
For your extraordinary effort and for raising a fantastic sum, we thank you, Heather. You are this week’s OCHRE Hero.
